By 8:00 p.m. AST Sunday ridge located from New Brunswick to East
Scotian Slope.
At 8:00 p.m. AST Sunday approaching low located south of Long
Island.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:38 AM AST 24 January 2026 A cold front over the southern marine district will depart the region
today. Strong to gale force northwesterlies and very cold Arctic air
giving freezing spray will prevail today.
A ridge will approach from the west tonight and will move to lie from
New Brunswick to East Scotian Slope Sunday evening. Winds will
gradually diminish to light near the ridge.
An intensifying low pressure system south of Long Island, New York
Sunday evening will move slowly across southern waters on Monday and
early Tuesday. Strong to gale force winds will be associated with
this feature.
Marine interests are advised that gale and freezing spray warnings
are in effect for all marine areas.
