Island Bank.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Saturday low 958 mb located east of the Marine
District.
At 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday approaching ridge located on a line
north-south over the Maritimes.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:56 PM NST 5 December 2025 An intensifying low pressure system over Funk Island Bank will move
to lie east of Funk Island Bank by Saturday afternoon. Gale to storm
force west to northwesterlies will persist over most waters in its
wake while strong to gale force easterly to northeasterlies north of
the low will veer to gale to storm force northwesterlies tonight.
Winds will further intensify to storm to hurricane force west to
northwesterlies tonight as the low deepens, before slowly diminishing
on Saturday as the low moves east of the marine district.
Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for Funk Island Bank and Northern Grand Banks.
Storm warnings are in effect for Gulf - Port au Port, Southwest
Coast, South Coast, East Coast, Northeast Coast, and Southern Grand
Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for Strait of Belle Isle - eastern
half, Northeast Gulf, and Belle Isle Bank.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle - western half, Gulf waters, East
Coast, and Northeast Coast.
Marine interests are also advised that water levels are expected to
exceed the highest astronomical tide with high waves and pounding
surf, impacting some coastal areas of Southwest Coast, South Coast
and East Coast on Saturday morning, most significant near high tide.
