Greenland.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Sunday low 971 mb located over the Northwest
Labrador Sea.
At 4:00 a.m. NST Sunday ridge located over southern Quebec.
By 9:30 p.m. NST Sunday ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over the Maritimes.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:18 AM NST 24 January 2026 An intensifying low pressure system south of Greenland will slowly
move westward to lie over the East Labrador Sea this evening and over
the Northwest Labrador Sea on Sunday morning. Strong to gale force
northwesterlies are expected to develop west of the low over most
waters today, and will strengthen to gale to storm force
northwesterlies over northern waters tonight and Sunday. East of the
low, gale to storm force easterlies to southeasterlies will develop
tonight and persist into Sunday.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
North Labrador Coast - north of Saglek, Northwest Labrador Sea, and
East Labrador Sea. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters except Lake Melville.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open water.
