Technical Marine Synopsis
Issued 8:00 PM AST 5 December 2025 Tonight and Saturday At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight departing low 973 mb located northeast
of Newfoundland.
At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight ridge located over the Gulf of Maine.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Saturday ridge located over the eastern Marine
District.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:32 PM AST 5 December 2025 An intense low pressure system northeast of Newfoundland will slowly
track eastward and away from the region tonight. A ridge of high
pressure over the western marine district will move to lie over the
eastern marine district by Saturday evening. Gale to storm force
northwesterlies are expected between these two features with light to
moderate winds under the ridge.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Banquereau. Gale warnings are in effect for eastern shore - eastern
half, Sable - eastern half, East Scotian Slope - eastern half,
Fourchu, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen , Chaleur-Miscou
- eastern half, and Anticosti - southeastern half.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Cabot Strait and all Gulf of St Lawrence waters.
