days.
2. Dense Fog Advisory Criteria expected tonight and into Sunday
Morning as a new product will be issued later this Saturday.

.DISCUSSION...
While the strong high pressure existing over the Eastern
Pacific will the atmosphere over Central stable and dry,
satellite imagery is showing a Closed Low disturbance spinning
just off the Southern California Coast. This disturbance is too
far south to affect Central California with most if its energy
focused on the Desert Southwest. Therefore, fog and low clouds
will dominate Central Californias weather through the weekend
and into early next week.
Energy from a weak short-wave is crossing Central California
with possible effects from its passage. First, enough mixing may
cause the fog to lift into low clouds with improved visibility
values during the next 24 hours. That mixing may also dissipated
the fog and allow sunshine (clear skies) to show this afternoon
as fog is sure to re-develop overnight.
Current probability of visibility reaching below 1 mile remains
at below 30 percent, except for an area from Lemoore to Visalia
and down toward Corcoran where the probability is between 30
and 40 percent. Will opt in issuing a Dense Fog Advisory for
more if a Patchy Dense Fog Scenario.
While precipitation is in the forecast for the Mid-week period,
probability of reaching a tenth of an inch (0.10) in a 12 hour
period remains below 15 percent. Therefore, will opt for mean
value precipitation accumulation and keep total amounts between
a TRACE and a ten of an inch (0.10) for Wednesday and Thursday.
&&
.AVIATION...
Expect improving conditions toward MVFR after 23Z today as
probability of IFR conditions drop below 30% until about 05Z
Sunday. After 05Z Sunday, probability of IFR increases to
40-50% through 12Z Sunday. VFR conditions will prevail across
the Sierra Nevada, Coastal Range, and in the Mojave Desert for
the next 24 hours.
&&
