.KEY MESSAGES...
- Expect a scattered light wintry mix this afternoon.

- Cooler temperatures are expected today with a hard freeze tonight/Friday
  morning.

- Mild and dry conditions look to return for the weekend with
light rain/snow possible early next week.

.DISCUSSION...

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:
With warm hot high pressure in place over the Desert Southwest,
this has brought and active zonal pattern to the International
border including northern Montana. The problem over the next week
or so will be a lack of pacific moisture in the flow to squeeze
out anything other than very light rain or flurries.

A cold front has brought scattered rain showers south of the
Missouri River this early this morning. While the initial showers
will exit south early, a second wave of light rain and snow is
expected this afternoon. Tonight/Friday morning expect a hard
freeze as the cold air behind the front settles in for about 24
hours and then leaves just as quickly Friday.

A Lake Wind Advisory has been issued again for this afternoon and
evening.

Beginning on Friday, warm high pressure rebounds, and higher than
normal temperatures quickly return to our region for the weekend
before being knocked down again by another weak cold front Monday
night. More active weather with chances 10-50%) for light
rain/snow showers moves in again next work week.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:
Main deviations this evening were to the next 24 hours in order
to get hourly CAMs data into PoPs, Sky, Wind, and Wind Gusts.

There is a high in gusty winds for a Lake Wind Advisory this
afternoon and evening.

There is moderate confidence in temperatures through the next 5
days. There is high confidence in a freeze occurring Thursday
morning, and a hard freeze occurring tonight/Friday morning.

.AVIATION...

LAST UPDATE: 0700Z

FLIGHT CATEGORY: VFR - MVFR

DISCUSSION: A cold front moved through the area last night. There
is low (10-40%) confidence of rain showers occurring as a result
of this disturbance at KSY and KGDV and therefore much is handled
with Prob30s. Low/Fuel Loading MVFR clouds will be bouncing in
and out of the area through the early morning hours. A second
round of precip will arrive this afternoon with slightly higher
chances (20-60%) for a rain-snow mix. Precip should exit all the
terminals around 02Z this evening with clearing skies into the
night-time hours.

WIND: N at 10 kts or less early this morning. Backing to the E
late morning. Further Backing to the W to NW and increasing to 15
to 25 gust 30 kts Friday afternoon and evening. Calming to 10 kts
or less by midnight Friday night.
